It was absolutely freezing around here yesterday. But Nadine and I decided to do a little shopping anyway, so we headed up to Ann Arbor Michigan. We stopped at Urban Outfitters. Nothing super exciting there. It was so cold and of course my darling child thought all she needed to wear was a T-shirt and a hoodie. I told her she was going to freeze, but she ignored me. I think she had a plan, because of course when we were walking back to the car, she was freezing! We had planned to go to Moosejaw, so at that point, I knew I was going to be buying a new North Face jacket! For how cold it was, i was surprised how hopping A² was. They had the annual ice sculptures out, which I think are pretty cool. It was too cold to stop and take a picture, but there were some cute ones! We ended up buying this North Face jacket, and luckily it was on sale!
So we headed over to our favorite lunch spot, Zingerman's Deli.
I found this picture of Nadine's lunch, the Greek Salad. Thanks to Ulterior Epicure for the nice pic of the Zingerman's greek salad. Now normally I get the #68 Hot BLT (Applewood-smoked bacon, avocado spread, spicy fire-roasted New Mexico green chiles, lettuce, tomato & mayo on Jewish rye bread), but we munched on pizza combos on the way up, so I wasn't super hungry.
So I got the Farmer's Market Salad. I have to say that in all the times I've eaten there, this was the one disappointment for me. The salad wasn't very good. I should have just gotten the greek, too. Also, they have two types of pickles, they're called "Old" and "New". We always get the old pickles. Well, yesterday, all they had were new pickles and they were gross. And really, we are pickle maniacs at our house, so that was a huge bummer! I'm sending them an email to let them know I want the old pickles back!
